Arrivati alla loro ventottesima edizione, i Golden Joystick Awards sono stati assegnati anche per questo anno 2010. Con oltre 1.500.000 voti la più prestigiosa palma di Game of The Year 2010 è andata meritatamente a Mass Effect 2, che è riuscito dunque a battere il best-seller Modern Warfare 2, dal canto suo accontentatosi del titolo di miglior shooter dell’anno.
Tra i riconoscimenti, anche quello come miglior titolo sportivo a FIFA 10 e quello a Call of Duty: Black Ops come gioco da tenere d’occhio per il 2011. Il premio che sicuramente farà discutere di più invece è quello di miglior strategico, assegnato a Plants vs. Zombies in barba a StarCraft II, su tutti.
